Thank you, Alaska.

Today, June 16, 2023, will mark the third anniversary of my affiliation with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services (BHHS) .  I’ve owned other brokerages over my 40 plus years of real estate, but  these past three years have been the most rewarding of my career.  Last week, I visited Palmer, Wasilla and Homer, where we have opened branches.  Prior to BHHS, I simply got on an airplane when I became too exhausted from  working and never saw Alaska beyond Anchorage and Big Lake. Now, BHHS has given me the opportunity to explore our great State of Alaska. We also have entered the commercial market with Lottie Michael, CCIM, Senior Vice President  of Commercial Division with Michael James and Colin Agni, all born and raised in Alaska and in real estate.  

In May I was the guest at the annual Berkshire Hathaway annual  shareholders meeting and suddenly began to understand what I had become a member of.  When BHHS says, we stand for trust, integrity and financial stability, I now realize how privileged we are to be a very small part of a international organization with over 152 companies from Berkshire Hathaway Energy to Pampered Chefs and See’s Candy (my favorite).  I am humbled by my success and feel honored that you have read my sometimes-impassioned real estate articles—over 2,000 during my career. 

Next week, I will also be celebrating my 30 year wedding  anniversary (And some of you will be amazed to learn that I have been married to the same person for three decades) with a husband, who despite our political differences has steadfastly stood by me while I navigated through the trials and tribulations of the ever changing Alaska real estate market.
